A small milestone passed.
The first event where we are the one and only performers - if you don't count the Mayor's address.
About 60 people attended and danced very willingly.
A pleasant return to the Harvest Fair at the URC. Thence on to the corner of the Market Hall where we soon had passers-by stopping to listen. £35 collected in a hat for Ashgate Hospice.
Our 30th Gig, if my calculations are correct.
The first event where we are the one and only performers - if you don't count the Mayor's address.

Really excellent and adaptable performance for St Marks. Many of us received positive comments from the audience and it looks like the Frost post-Panto Party is on again...
We played for an hour in very blustery weather and livened up a novel event where you could get everything from bicycled smoothies to advice on how to insulate your solar-powered wind turbine with biodegradeable local produce.
Two gigs in two days. Well done everyone who was available at short notice to play at Ashgate Croft School's Summer Fair on 10.7.09. We may get formally invited next year.
And to everyone who was available at the Ashgate Hospice Summer Fair on 11.07.09. We gathered about £12 in our "hat," it didn't rain and we got to see Darth Vader - Death Star commander and conductor.
And I've added excerpts from Gay Bolton's review of our performance at Chesterfield Folk Club to the post of 2009.06.13.
Many thanks from Old Hall Junior for the
Maypole music and subsequent set at the Summer Fair on Saturday 27th
June. Hot stuff!
I’ve added a comment from my brother to the
